"From Suffering to Enlightenment" A 10-day and 10-night continuous ultramarathon is taking place from February 28 to March 10 at the 700-meter Olympic Sports Center track in Xiamen, China. This 240-hour continuous race is being held in Asia for the first time. Previously, only 6-day continuous races had been organized in China and Japan. Mongolian athlete Budjargal Byambaa is competing in this historic event to run 1,600 km in 10 days and set a new world record. He is an experienced ultrarunner:

  • In 2024, in New York City, United States, he ran 1,315 km in 10 days and won 1st place.
  • In 2025, in Japan, he ran 931 km in 6 days and also secured 1st place. Budjargal Byambaa has announced that he is dedicating this run to Terry Fox. He wears a shirt with the slogan: “Learn from World Hero Terry Fox”, and his support team wears the same message.

Why is he dedicating his run to Terry Fox?

SOUL RELAY can be understood as a “Relay of the Spirit” — a transmission of enlightenment from one awakened soul to another. It is similar to a relay race, where athletes carry a baton and pass it on to the next runner to continue the race. In this case, it is a spiritual baton — passed from Terry Fox to Budjargal Byambaa, and from Budjargal Byambaa to the world. Through the act of running, he seeks to transmit spiritual light. This run is not merely a sporting event. It is a living demonstration of humanity’s ability to overcome oneself — to awaken courage and hope, to endure suffering and transcend it, to push beyond limits and reach enlightenment through the evolution of the soul.

Summary
